Make a gift in memory of Dr. Jack H. Bloch to benefit Resident & Medical Student Education at Kern Medical.

Portrait of Dr. Jack H. BlochOn May 13, 2015 we lost a beloved member of the Kern Medical Family; Dr. Bloch was a brilliant surgeon and mentor to so many who had the privilege to be trained by and work with him. We mourn his loss and send our deepest sympathies to Gretchen and his family.

When Dr. Bloch and his family arrived in Bakersfield in 1976, no one knew the immense impact he would have on so many. Over nearly 40 years, Dr. Bloch trained more than 100 medical resident and students. As Chief of Surgery, Dr. Bloch was instrumental in developing the affiliation with UCLA that remains today. Dr. Bloch was more than just a gifted surgeon, but his kindness and compassion for all he encountered are what made him so special.

The Kern Medical Foundation has established a Jack H. Bloch Fund in his honor. All funds raised will go towards Resident and Medical Student Education at Kern Medical.

Make a gift today to the Jack H. Bloch Memorial Fund and help continue the legacy of exceptional Resident and Medical Student Education for years to come.

“Dr. Bloch was a exceptional surgeon, a wonderful teacher and a kind and understanding mentor.”
